Vergangene Woche war “Passenger” in Melbourne, für ein Konzert.
Wie es mir eigentlich immer so geht, war das einzige Melbourne Konzert bereits ausverkauft, bevor ich auch nur eine Ahnung davon hatte, dass er überhaupt auf Australien Tour geht. #StoryOfMyLife
Umso aufgeregter war ich, als ich davon hörte, dass Mike Rosenberg (so heißt Passenger mit richtigem Namen) auf Melbournes Federation Square in der Innenstadt, ein kostenloses Konzert geben würde. Accoustic, spontan, ganz wie früher, als er noch als Straßenmusiker in Melbourne seit Geld verdiente.

Ich bin ja der Meinung, im Radio sollte viel öfter Passenger gespielt werden, und in meinem Office sowieso!
Dieses öffentliche Konzert wollte ich mir nicht entgehen lassen und so ließ ich Arbeit, Arbeit sein und setzte mich in die Tram. Auf ging es in die City!
Dort angekommen, wartete bereits eine nicht unbeachtliche Menge an Menschen auf Mike.
Wir brauchten nicht lange zu warten und dann stand er auch schon vor uns – Charming, chatty, und total sympathisch. Neben seinen Songs, die er spielte, erzählte er wie alles begann. Wie er vor einigen Jahren in Melbourne als Straßenmusiker arbeitete und oft kein Geld hatte. Wie sehr er sich über seinen Erfolg freut und ermunterte seine Fans, künftig Straßenmusiker doch mit 1-2 Dollar zu unterstützen.
Irgendwann kam er auf die Idee, wir sollten doch näher rücken, damit er sich nicht ganz wie auf einer Konzertbühne fühlte. Doch ich glaube, er hatte nicht damit gerechnet, dass die Menschen so close kommen würden. Er hatte tatsächlich kaum noch Platz, Gitarre zu spielen. Ich habe das versucht im Bild festgehalten, wie eng es um ihn herum dann vorne war. Er stand tatsächlich irgendwo in der Mitte drin, ohne Security. *g*
Viele ältere Leute (und nein, dazu zähle ich mich noch nicht) wunderten sich, was auf diesem öffentlichen Platz geschah und warum ein Straßenmusiker eine so große Gruppe an Menschen begeistert. Ich hätte ihre Blicke fotografieren sollen. Golden!
Es war ein wunderbares Erlebnis, Passenger doch noch zu sehen, auch wenn ich keine Konzertkarte hatte. Er spielte etwa 45 Minuten und wir (sein Publikum) sangen jeden Song mit ihm zusammen. Fast wie ein Straßenmusiker Chor. Es war wirklich ziemlich cool, vor allem auch wegen der Kulisse und dem ungewöhnlichen “Konzert-Ort”. Sollte es wirklich öfter geben sowas.
