Es ist unglaublich was ich heute in einem Mädelsgespräch mit einer guten Freundin erfahren musste. Noch immer bin ich ein wenig fassungslos. Doch ich beginne mal von Anfang an.
Mein Freundin kommt aus Neukaledonien, ich habe sie 2004 kennengelernt und seitdem verstehen wir uns recht gut. Selbstverständlich spricht man auch so über das eine oder ander männliche Objekt das den Weg kreuzt. Seit Neuestem ist ihr neuer Freund Marc intensives Thema unserer Gespräche. 
Heute fragt mich also Frau Neukaledonien, ob es in Deutschland auch so sei, wie in ihrem Heimatland. Man ginge aus, lerne jemand kennen, flirte, küsse,… und es sei klar nach einer gewissen Zeit, dass man ein Paar sei. Im Prinzip stimmte ich ihr zu, wobei ich anmerkte, dass es sooooo einfach und klar ja nun auch nicht immer sei.
Sie meinte daraufhin nur: “Hier ist das aber nicht so!!!”
Ich: “Wie meinst du das, hier ist es nicht so? Willst du sagen hier wird nicht geflirtet und geküsst? Das wage ich zu bestreiten.”
Sie: “Nein, nein! Ich meinte hier ist das nicht zwangsläufig so, dass man dann ein Paar ist.”
Ich: “Ach und was ist man dann?”
Sie: “Keine Ahnung, bis man gefragt wird ist es eben Tingeltangel”
Ich: “Bis man WAS gefragt wird? Was meinst du?”
Sie: “Na bis du gefragt wirst, ob du mit jemandem gehen willst.”
Ich: …verblüfftes Gesicht…
Und das ist hier tatsächlich so!!! Frau Neukaledoniens Freund ist Mitte 30 und hat sie tatsächlich berüchtigte Frage gefragt. Selbst ihr Ex-Freund fragte sie die selbe Frage. Auf näheres Nachhaken ihrerseits und Befragung eines gemeinsamen Bekannten wurde es uns bestätigt… Man macht das hier so!!!
Anders als im guten alten Deutschland, wo nur picklige Teenies bunte Zettelcen beschriften mit “Ja, Nein, Vielleicht”, nimmt man hier die Frage aus unseren Jugendtagen noch sehr ernst.
Sollte also mal jemand nach Down Under kommen und sich hier verlieben, bitte nicht lachen wenn euch eben jene Frage gestellt wird (also nicht reagieren wie meine Freundin!!! ) !!! Bleibt ganz locker, unterdrückt das Grinsen und denkt euch ganz einfach “Hier ist das so!”.
Na ja, ist doch irgendwie auch süss, oder?
Ich finde es auch suess. Hier in den USA kommt es mir manchmal so vor als ob erst gekuesst wird wenn ein fetter Diamant am Finger der Dame glaenzt.

Da ist man 10 Jahre zusammen u. dann fragt der Freund: “Willst Du mit mir gehen?” In 5 Jahren sagt man “Ja”! Nach weiteren 10 Jahren kommt der Heiratsantrag u. mit 70 u. Krückstock steht man dann vor dem Standesamt u. nuschelt mit den Dritten: “Bei uns ist das halt so!!”
Ich finde es noch immer recht bizarr. Käme mir wirklich sehr merkwürdig vor, wenn mich das jemand fragen würde.
