Eine wichtige Grundregel, die nur allzu gerne hier in Melbourne vergessen wird, ist: Der Feind hört mit!
Bewegt man sich als Deutscher in Melbourne und redet zu Freunden und Bekannten in der eigenen Muttersprache, so muss man sich einer Tatsache bewusst sein. An jeder Ecke lauert jemand , der einen versteht. Die Anzahl der deutsch sprechenden Australier ist ebenso wenig zu unterschätzen, wie die Anzahl der Deutschen an sich. Besonders gefährlich wird es, wenn der Sommer naht und die Touristen das land erobern.
So ist es nicht gerade selten, dass man im Supermarkt steht und Gespräche hört, wie:
“Christian, hast du die Tomatensauce irgendwo gesehen?” …. “Wow, schau mal! Hier gibt es 2,5 Liter Flaschen Cola”…. “Ach neee, die haben ja auch Maggi!” ….etc!
Viel lustiger wird es allerdings in der Tram!
Ungehemmt werden hier die intimsten Details ausgetauscht, über Liebschaften im Backpacker Hostel berichtet und über diverse Leute abgelästert.
Dass in unmittelbarer Nähe zu ihnen jemand sitzen könnte, der sie versteht, wird dabei völlig außer Acht gelassen. Man ist ja schließlich in Australien! 
Manchmal mache ich mir den Spaß, höre diesen Personen zu, während ich so tue als lese ich in meinem Buch und beim Aussteigen aus der Tram, wünsche ich ihnen einen schönen Tag! Die Blicke die man dann erntet, sind nicht mit Gold aufzuwiegen!!!! *fett grins*
Nur einmal, als ich zwei Mädels aus Sachsen aus ihrem Dilemma half den Stadtplan richtig zu lesen, war ich fassungslos. Man fragte mich doch allen Ernstes, wo ich so gut Deutsch gelernt hätte. Was soll man dazu noch sagen!?

So sind nun mal die Touris, kaum ist man in einem anderen Land, vergisst man schnell, dass man auch von gleichgesinnten umgeben sein könnte
Naja zwischen Sächsisch und Hochdeutsch liegen ja auch Welten!
Cool! Die Blicke würde ich auch gerne mal sehen. Aber ehrlich gesagt ist es mir auch schon in Prag passiert, dass ich in Bus und Bahn lauter gesprochen habe als es in Deutschland der Fall gewesen wäre. Und in Prag verstehen natürlich auch sehr viele Menschen deutsch.
Füße wieder warm? So spart man wenigstens den CPU Kühler
Dazu weiß ich sogar ZWEI Geschichten beizusteuern.
Als ich vor richtig langer Zeit mal alleine in London weilte und der Meinung war, ich müsste mir bei Burger King am Piccadilly Circus einen Doppel-Whopper und zwei große Getränke bestellen, saß ich nun also mit meinem Tablett da oben rum, versuchte verzweifelt, mir den meterhohen Burger ohne größere Unfälle einzuverleiben und kleckerte mit meinem Getränken herum. Das Eis in den einen, die Flüssigkeit in den anderen Becher. Am Nebentisch saßen ein paar deutsche Teenager und unterhielten sich. War ganz lustig. Als sie gingen, sagte das eine Mädchen “Tschüs” zu mir und die anderen dann: “Ey, bist du bescheuert? Dich versteht hier doch keiner!”.
….
Und als die Beste für ein Jahr in China war, hatte sie dort auch mit einigen Deutschen zu tun, denen sie erzähl hat, sie habe erst mit Beginn des Studium in China damit angefangen, Deutsch zu lernen. Man hat es ihr geglaubt… 5 Monate Unterricht – und schon fließend.
