SOS tritt dabei als Dachorganisation der Veranstaltung auf und will mit den Erlösen eine Stiftung für den Klimaschutz einrichten. Eines der beiden Konzerte in Japan soll in Kyoto stattfinden, wo 1997 das nach der Stadt benannte Klimaschutz-Protokoll unterzeichnet wurde. Der Emmy-Preisträger Wall fungiert, wie schon im Jahr 2005 bei den Live 8-Veranstaltungen, mit seiner Firma Control Room als Produzent.
