Unter dem Motto “Make poverty history” fand am Wochenende in Melbourne ein Festival statt, bei dem einige namhafte Bands auftraten. Unter anderem auch U2. Wenn auch unangekündigt, so eröffneten sie jedoch das Festival zusammen mit Pearl Jam.
Und dies nicht ganz ohne Grund, denn am selben Wochenende fanden in Melbourne zwei U2 Konzerte statt. (Hier spielen die Bands meistens an zwei Tagen hintereinander, wegen der großen Nachfrage). Und wer war am Sonntag dort? Richtig: ICH!!
Ich glaube es war das Beste Konzert auf dem ich jemals in meinem ganzen bisherigen Leben war. Nicht nur weil ich schon immer mal U2 live sehen wollte, sondern weil sie echt überzeugten und einen phantastischen Gig hinlegten. Erwartet hatte ich, dass fast ausschließlich neue Songs gespielt werden, doch mit dieser Vermutung lag ich gründlich daneben. Mein Grinsen war nicht mehr aus dem Gesicht zu bekommen.
