- Aber auch wie teuer Melbourne ist. Ausgehen kann ganz schön aufs Budget schlagen und shoppen macht zwar Spaß weil die Auswahl hier schon recht groß ist, aber es ist für jemanden der aus Deutschland kommt a) last season und b) teuer. Selbst für jemand der Hamburger Preise gewohnt ist.
Es gibt noch so viel mehr was ich alles vergessen hatte, doch sind wir mal ehrlich, alles wieder neu zu entdecken macht eine Menge Spaß. Und so laufe ich mit offenen Augen durch meine Hood (St Kilda) und staune, freue mich und erlebe.
Aber St Kilda, der Vorort in dem ich auch früher schon wohnte, hat sich verändert. Die Leute die hierherkommen sind andere und das Viertel wächst. Kommerzielle Läden entdecken das Gebiet für sich. Wo früher kleine quirky Läden waren, sind nun Immobilienmakler, French Connection und große Ketten. Altes wird abgerissen und neue Wohnblocks entstehen. Ich habe Bedenken, wie diese Entwicklung weitergeht. Es bleibt wohl nicht aus und ist auch nicht aufzuhalten. Plötzlich ist es hipp in diesen Vororten zu wohnen. Doch im Grunde zähle ich auch zu denjenigen, die das Bild von St Kilda ändern. Auch ich war nicht immer hier. Auch ich habe mir diesen Vorort als meinen Lebensraum ausgesucht, weil er nah am Strand liegt, wegen der vielen kleinen Cafés und der entspannten Atmosphäre.
Doch genug davon, die Freude wieder hier zu sein überwiegt. Die Wolken sagen gerade Good Bye und die Sonne kommt heraus. Mein Balkon ist noch kein guter Platz, um bei Sonnenlicht zu arbeiten. Und arbeiten tu ich momentan auch wirklich noch nicht. Ohne WLAN ist das derzeit ziemlich mühselig und so ergebe ich mich meinem Schicksal und entspanne. (Wird aber langsam wieder Zeit was zu tun, ich werde hibbelig)
