Gestern war ich zu einer Geburtstagsfeier eingeladen. Der Neuseeländer Bücherwurm wurde ein Jahr älter. Also musste ein kleines Präsent her. Ich wusste auch genau was! Neulich erzählte mir ein Bekannter, dass in der Feinkostabteilung von David Jones (das ist DAS Nobelkaufhaus hier schlechthin) Dosenwein erhältlich sei. Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris… Lustig und ideal für ein Picknick geeignet.
So kam es, dass ich gestern in besagtem David Jones shoppen ging.
Es ist erstaunlich welche Gedanken einem bei einem Bummel in diesem Geschäft durch den Kopf gehen. Alles ist extrem modern, exklusiv und hochwertig eingerichtet und gestaltet. Alles blitzt und glänzt. Selbst die Verkäuferinnen – oder besser die Shop Assistants – sehen aus wie aus dem Ei gepellt und haben ein Make up wie aus der Modezeitung. Man demonstriert, wenn man wie ich mit Flip Flops und Jeans den Laden betritt, ein klein wenig zu sehr das Understatement. 
Und hat das Gefühl dementsprechend angesehen zu werden. Mag aber auch vielleicht nur meine Wahnehmung gewesen sein.
In der Feinkostabteilung fand ich dann meine besagten Weindosen und dachte mir, wenn ich schon drin bin, shoppe ich doch mal weiter. Also zwei Stockwerke höher zu den … na was wohl???… genau zu den Schuhen!!!
Hier sind alle Weltstars der Schuhdesigner vertreten. Und natürlich ließ ich es mir nicht nehmen, das schönste Paar Stiefelchen der Welt anzuprobieren. Ein braunes Paar aus zartem Leder von Marc Jacobs!! Ich werde mir nie wieder die Füße waschen!!! Noch nie hatte ich so teurer Schuhe an. 
Hab sie natürlich nicht gekauft, auch wenn sie wirklich toll waren, aber für über $600 kaufe selbst ich keine Schuhe.
Statt dessen hab ich mir in einem Billigjeansladen ein paar Ultra Skinny Jeans gekauft. Auf dem Etikett stand auch: Ultra Skinny…. Breathe in…Zip up… Don’t breath out. Aber keine Angst, ich kann ausatmen und sie passt immer noch
