Nun bin ich bereits seit Freitag Abend in Melbourne.
Der Flug war lang und die Sitznachbarn äußerst fraglich. Die Geschichten über sie sind ein wenig ekelig und daher lasse ich sie aus diesem Grund auch aus. 
Am Samstag Morgen war ich gleich einmal shoppen. Aber ich hatte eine gute Entschuldigung dafür. Ich vergaß meine Laufschuhe zu hause und es mussten neue her. Nach einer genauen Laufanalyse bin ich nun stolze Besitzerin von ein paar Brooks Raduis 6. Der Abend stand dann ganz unter einem Mädels Motto. Es ging in meinen Lieblingsvorort von Melbourne, nach Fitzroy. Alternativ, ein wenig ausgeflippt und extrem entspannt. Außerdem darf man hier in noch fast jeder Kneipe rauchen und es spielt in fast jeder Lokalität eine Liveband.
Gestern ging es dann gegen Mittag zum BBQ in den Park. Priscilla feierte dort ihren Geburtstag und dank ihrer Nationalität und ihrer Freunde kam man sich vor wie in Brasilien
Es war richtig schön. Faul in der Sonne liegen, ein paar Bierchen trinken und quatschen.
Am Abend wurde dann, weil es so schön war, gleich wieder gegrillt. M. und T. aus dem Heimatstädtchen H. sind zur Zeit auch in Melbourne und kamen vorbei. Ein netter Abend der spät endete.
Heute war dann meine Mission Kleiderkauf für den Melbourne Cup. Melbourne feiert nämlich zur Zeit den Spring Carnival – ein vierwöchiges Pferderennen. Morgen ist einer der besten Tage des Spring Carnival, nämlich das Hauptrennen – der Melbourne Cup Day. Dieser Tag ist hier sogar so wichtig, dass es ein Feiertag ist.
Das Ganze nennt sich auch nicht umsonst Carnival. Man verkleidet sich zwar nicht wie in Deutschland, allerdings gibt es einen festen Dresscode für das Rennen. Die Mädels tragen Kleider, Hüte oder Federn im Haar und High Heels und die Jungs Anzug, Schlips und wer will einen Hut.
Es ähnelt ein wenig dem Rennen in Ascot. Allerdings geht es den Australiern hierbei weniger um das Rennen an sich. Es ist vielmehr wieder einmal ein willkommener Anlass zu trinken. Obwohl ich morgen zum Rennen gehe, weiß ich noch nicht genau, was ich davon halten soll…
Aus diesem Grund war ich heute jedenfalls wieder einmal shoppen. Ich brauchte ja schließlich ein Kleid und einen Hut. (Bild kommt morgen )
Vorhin sah ich Bilder vom Wochenende im TV und nun zweifele ich das Vorhaben wirklich ein wenig an. Es scheint noch stranger zu sein, als ich es mir vorstellte. Nun ja, man wird sehen und heimgehen kann man ja immer noch. Ich freue mich aber schon auf das Rennen selbst. Ich wollte schon immer einmal zu einem Pferderennen. Ich werfe nachher noch einen Blick in die Zeitung, um mich einmal schlau zu machen, welche Pferde hübsch aussehen und einen netten Namen haben. Auf die wette ich dann 
Wollen doch mal sehen, ob ich nicht reich werde!!! *lach*
Und nun lege ich mich wieder ein wenig hin. Ich bin noch immer ziemlich k.o. und der Jetlag bewirkt, dass es mir jedes Mal, wenn ich müde bin, ein wenig schlecht wird.
