Während man läuft oder geht, sendet der Sensor die Trainingsdaten – Zeit, Entfernung, Tempo und verbrannte Kalorien – an den iPod nano. Kleiner Energiestoß gefällig? Dann hört man das Sprach-Feedback des iPod nano in Echtzeit. Er gratuliert sogar, sobald man eine persönliche Bestzeit erreicht hat.
Nach dem Training synchronisiert man den iPod nano mit dem Computer, um die Trainingsdaten an iTunes und nikeplus.com zu übertragen. Dort kann man die Laufleistung analysieren, neue Trainingsziele festlegen und sogar andere Läufer zu einem virtuellen Rennen herausfordern.
In einem Blog las ich, dass Runners Point kleine Taschen anbietet, in die der Sensor passt. Die Kosten hierfür belaufen sich auf etwa 3 € und die Tasche wird am Schuh befestigt.
