Es ist soweit, der Sommer warf nun letztlich das Handtuch und der Herbst hält Einzug.
Die Luft ist frisch und kühl, Herbstwinde rauschen durch die Bäume und zerwirbeln mein Haar und es wird zunehmend schwerer gegen den Wind mit dem Fahrrad anzukämpfen. Regen wechselt sich im Stundenrythmus mit Sonne ab und der Duft von Laub und Herbst hängt bereits in der Luft.
Dies ist seit Jahren wieder mein erster (beginnender) Herbst in Deutschland und obwohl dieser (einmal vom vielen Regen abgesehen) nicht so viel anders ist, als jener in Melbourne, fühlt es sich ganz besonders an. Es ist aufregend und, ich weiß es mag seltsam klingen, es fühlt sich neu an.
Ich habe mir schon Boots gekauft, liebe es mir einen fetten Schal um den Hals zu wickeln und mit meinem Rad durch die kleinen Gassen und Alleen von Hamburg zu düsen. Im Außenbereich von Cafes zu sitzen, die letzten Sonnenstrahlen einzufangen und voller Wehmut daran zu denken, dass es nun bereits gegen halb 9 Abends schon wieder dunkel wird.

Mittlerweile bin ich mir sicher, Hamburg ist zwar wirklich schön und hat tolle Ecken, aber es wird niemals eine innige Liebe zwischen Fudge und Hamburg entstehen. Dazu ist mir Hamburg zu klein. Oft fühlt es sich hier an wie in einem Dorf. Klingt komisch, ich weiß und meine Freunde in meinem Heimatstädtchen lachten mich aus, als ich es ihnen erzählte, doch so ist es nun einmal. Überall trifft man Leute und glaubt mir, so viele Leute kenne ich hier nicht einmal.
Aber wie bereits erwähnt, es ist seit langem mein erster deutscher Herbst und gäbe es an dieser Stelle den berühmten Facebook-Button, würde ich “I like” klicken.
Doch so schön es auch ist, es hat mich ein wenig das Fernweh gepackt. Und so überlege ich derzeit, über meinen Geburtstag (Ende September) nach New York zu fliegen. So 3-4 Tage, eine neue Stadt entdecken, Touri Sachen machen, shoppen (!!!), und ganz gemütlich in Straßencafés im West Village abhängen. Ja, je länger ich darüber nachdenke, umso besser klingt diese Idee. Eine gute Beschäftigung, um über die Tatsache hinwegzukommen, dass ich bald 35 (!) werde. *g*
Und bevor ihr fragt, nein ich habe kein Problem mit meinem Alter. Ich finde nur es klingt so alt. Älter als ich mich fühle. Und älter, als ich selbst glaube auszusehen (wehe es lacht an dieser Stelle jemand *g*)
