Der Dalai Lama befindet sich gerade auf Australien Tour.
Vor Wochen bereits las ich die News dazu und die Plakate die ihn ankündigten.
Ich sah in bereits 1993 in München und war damals sehr angetan allein von der Austrahlung die von ihm ausging. Daher dachte ich mir, nach 14 Jahren sei es doch wieder an der Zeit sich anzuhören, was er zu sagen hat.
Doch verwundert musste ich feststellen, dass man Tickets buchen muss. Und diese sind nicht billig, sie kosten 85$!!!
Heute lese ich nun in “The Age” (Zeitung), dass man hofft genug Spenden und freiwillige Helfer für die Tour zu finden, um alles zu finanzieren. Denn die Tour koste 3,5 Mio $ (inkl. Businessclass Flüge und **** Hotels) und die zusätzlichen kostenlosen Events müssen ja auch finanziert werden. Ein Blick auf die Website verriet mir allerdings, dass es pro größere Stadt (Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney und Perth) lediglich max. zwei kostenlose Events gibt bei denen der Dalai Lama spricht. Die Chancen hier einen Platz zu bekommen halte ich für fragwürdig.
Rechnet man einmal, dass allein in Melbourne die Rod Laver Arena mehr als 80,000 Leute fasst, und ein Ticket 85$ kostet, der Dalai Lama dort dreimal spricht, vielleicht nur 50,000 Leute pro Session teilnehmen, kommt man auf eine stolze Summe von: 12,750,000 $. Und das nur in Melbourne! Und das ohne die Einnahmen von Merchandise und anderem Kram.
Ich muss kein Mathegenie sein und auch kein Finanzer, um zu erkennen, dass die Einnahmen ausreichen, um die Kosten mehr als zu decken.
Ich ärgere mich maßlos darüber, dass sich selbst der Dalai Lama so vermarktet….
Versteht mich nicht falsch. Ich habe nichts dagegen, wenn relig. Oranisationen versuchen etwas Profit zu machen und es in entsprechende Projekte zu investieren. Doch das hier ist Geldmacherei.
Und deswegen habe ich beschlossen, am 9. Juni, nicht zu versuchen einen Platz beim Free Public Talk zu bekommen, wie ich es ursprünglich vor hatte. Ich werde runter an den Strand gehen, dort einen Kaffee trinken und mir selbst meine Gedanken um die Probleme dieser Welt zu machen. (Ich Revoluzzer, ich!!!!)
