Vor ein paar Wochen beschlossen eine Freundin und ich, nach Sydney zu fliegen.
Wurde auch mal wieder Zeit, immerhin war ich nun seit ungefähr 5-6 Jahren nicht mehr dort. Eine lange Zeit.
Um ehrlich zu sein, an vieles konnte ich mich gar nicht mehr so recht erinnern. Man denk sofort an Sydney Oper und Habour Bridge, wenn man Sydney hört – vielleicht auch noch Bondi Beach. Man spricht das im übrigen als Bondei aus, nicht Bondi, wie ich viele immer sagen höre! An dieser Stelle sei auch mal erwähnt, dass Sour Creme, wie Sauer Creme ausgesprochen wird, und nicht Suhr Creme. Das nervt mich ja schon seit Jahren. Anyway, das ist nicht das Thema hier.
Ich wohnte in einem Hotel in China Town, was in Sydney recht zentral liegt. Und kurz nachdem wir die Koffer abstellten und das Zimmer bezogen hatten, ging es auch schon los. Ich brauchte ein wenig, um mich wieder zurechtzufinden. Einige Straßennamen kamen mir noch bekannt vor, doch einen richtigen Überblick hatte ich beileibe nicht.
Doch nach und nach, kamen die “Oh hier war ich schon” Augenblicke und das Puzzle setzte sich langsam wieder zusammen.
Meine Freundin Nina war bislang noch nie in Sydney und so stand auch ein wenig Sightseeing auf dem Programm, was mir gar nicht ungelegen kam, da ich gerne meine neue Kamera ausprobieren wollte.
In Melbourne finde ich es ja immer ein wenig peinlich, wie ein Tourist mit riesen Kamera und Objektiv durch die Stadt zu laufen und allen im Weg zu stehen. Doch in Sydney kann ich ungehindert Tourist sein und mich auch wie einer benehmen. Ein recht befreiendes Gefühl, das ich beschloss für Melbourne zu adaptieren. Sonst wird es nie etwas mit schönen Melbourne Fotos.
Wir fuhren viel mit den Fähren. es ist ein günstiger Weg Sydney zu erkunden und man hat eigentlich immer eine phantastische Aussicht auf die Stadt, die Oper, die Habour Bridge…
Außerdem fahre ich auch gerne Bötchen! *g*
Sonntag war das Wetter dann so schön, dass wir mit dem Bus raus nach Bondi sind.
Und wieder, ich hatte völlig vergessen, dass Bondi nicht wie Melbourne in einer Bucht liegt und die Wellen hier in angemessener Größe (je nach Wetterlage auch mal sehr hoch) an den Strand rauschen.
Und während ich so im Sand stehe und die Wellen fotografiere, erwischt mich natürlich auch gleich eine dieser fetten Wellen und spült meine Jeansbeine komplett nass. Erfrischend, aber scheiße.
Zum Glück war ich vorher noch shoppen und hatte somit Shorts dabei.
   
 
Am Abend ließen wir uns immer ein wenig treiben. Ich mache das in Städten ganz gerne. Mal links, mal rechts, rechts und sehen wo man landet.
In diesem Falle nicht nur in einem Laden mit Klamotten japanischer Designer, die mein Herz zum massiven flattern brachten. Sondern auch in Hinterhöfe mit Banksy-änlichen Kunstwerken und einem Vogelhaus / Regenschirm …was auch immer. Aber es sah gut aus.
Man würde dies nie finden, wenn man nicht mit mir einfach mit offenen Augen durch die Stadt läuft und sich treiben lässt.
Gestern Nachmittag ging es dann auch schon wieder zurück nach Melbourne.
