Als ich gestern in der Stadt war, bestätigte sich mir eine lang gehegte Vermutung.
In der Stadt sind das ganze Jahr über unglaublich viele Menschen, die Spenden für alles mögliche sammeln. Für Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Breast Cancer Foundation, …, ihr wisst schon. Ich fragte mich schon seit geraumer Zeit, ob es an der Natur der Australier liegt, gerne ehrenamtlich tätig zu werden oder ob man sie dafür bezahlt?
Gestern nun saß ich am Federation Square auf der Treppe und trank meinen Take Away Kaffee. Dabei beobachtete ich das Treiben um mich herum. Zwei Leute fielen mir dabei besonders auf. Sie hatten weder Flyer in der Hand, noch andere Werbemittel, aber sie sprachen die vorbei gehenden Leute an. Keiner der Angesprochenen reagierte genervt oder wimmelte sie ab. Ich wunderte mich, ob die beiden tatsächlich so viele Bekannte hatten? Oder warum die angesprochenen Leute so interessiert wirkten?
Es dauerte nicht lange und ich durfte erfahren, weshalb man zuhörte. Denn eine der Beiden kam zu mir und sprach mich an. “Sorry for the straightforward question but are are you looking for a job?” Ich wurde neugierig, was sie mir wohl anzubieten hätte. *sie unterschied sich optisch von mir allein schon durch die punkig, alternative Kleidung… war aber cool zusammengestellt*
Und dann fing sie an. Sie suchen Fund-Raiser *also Leute die Spenden sammeln und Mitglieder werben* für Organisationen wie Greenpeace, etc. Es wäre ein Vollzeitjob, gut bezahlt und mit flexiblen Arbeitszeiten.
Damit klärte sich also ein weiteres Rätsel für mich. Hier sammelt man Spenden und wird dafür bezahlt!
… ich habe den Job übrigens dankend abgelehnt. 
So ein großer Apparat kostet dann aber auch viel Geld und das fällt bei den Spenden weg ist doch auch nicht das wahre
