Für heute Nacht sind nun heftige Regenfälle, Gewitter und viel Wind gemeldet. Etwas was die Melbourne Region dringend braucht. Auf Grund der geringen Niederschlagsmengen im letzten Jahr herrscht große Trockenheit (man erinnert sich vielleicht an meinen Blogeintrag über die Bushfire in Victoria) und bis letzte Woche hatten wir Stage 4 der Water Restrictions. Da es in der letzten Zeit ein wenig regnete wurde es auf Stage 3 a gesenkt. Die Wasserreserven liegen zur Zeit bei 29,3% (Region Victoria).
Es ist für mich ein wenig befremdlich und dennoch schön zu sehen, wie man sich hier auf Regen freut und ihn sogar erwartet. Ist er doch enorm wichtig für die begrenzten Wasserreserven hier im Land.
Und es ist schön zu sehen wie man hier mit dem Thema Wasserverbrauch umgeht. So werden in der Tat Haushalte mit Geldstrafen bestraft, die im Jahr mehr als die zulässige Menge Wasser pro Person im Haushalt verbrauchen.
