Wir haben Mitte August und der Winter plätschert so vor sich hin.
Es ist kalt, es regnet und es gibt einige Thunderstorms. Hin und wieder allerdings gibt es solche Wochenenden wie das vergangene. Dann sind es plötzlich 18 Grad und Sonnenschein. Man braucht keine warme Winterjacke mehr und kann im Pullover in der Sonne sitzen. Ja, man holt sich sogar einen leichten Sonnenbrand.
Aber insgesamt bleibt das Wetter erst einmal noch recht bescheiden für mindestens einen Monat, bevor es langsam wieder aufwärts geht.
Nicht dass ich mich nun zuhause einmümmeln würde und warte, bis es endlich wieder Shortswetter kommt. Nein, keine Sorge. Ich bin aus Hamburg noch ganz anderes Wetter gewohnt.
Ich gehe fleißig weiter die Stadt entdecken, lerne Leute kennen und habe meinen Spaß.
Meine Jobsuche habe ich vorerst einmal auf Eis gelegt. Das neue financial year fing gerade an und somit sieht der Jobmarkt in meinem Bereich ein wenig leer aus. Daher habe ich mich nun auf eLance angemeldet, eine Plattform, auf der man als Suchender, Freelancer aus allen Bereichen finden und buchen kann – also zum Beispiel mich. Schaun wir mal, wie das so läuft. (ja man kann mich auch aus Deutschland buchen! Skype me!)

Langweilig wird es mir auf jeden Fall nicht, denn ich habe zusammen mit Stina, einer Freundin von mir, Klaus and Fritz gegründet.
K&F ist ein Online Mag zu allem was man so in Melbourne unternehmen und erleben kann, gemischt mit Traveltipps und Entertainement. Eine kleine bunte Kiste, die bislang recht gut anläuft und mir bereits einen neuen Facebook Freund einbrachte… einen der berühmtesten Mixologists Melbournes. Und ja, das Businessmodell von K&F basiert darauf, dass wir hoffen künftig Free Drinks zu bekommen. 
Generell ist das Thema Social Media hier eine ganz andere Geschichte als in Deutschland, muss ich immer wieder feststellen. Die Menschen sind hier viel offener und gleich mal bereit einen virtuellen Schnack zu haben, auch wenn sie dich noch nie gesehen haben. Muss ich mich als verkorkster Deutscher auch erst mal wieder daran gewöhnen. Als ich zuletzt in AUS lebte, war das ja noch nicht so das Thema.

Was gibt’s sonst Neues?
Ehrlich gesagt nicht besonders viel. Ich fliege in 3 Wochen oder so, an die Gold Coast zu einem 3-tägigen Blogger Event/Workshop/Congress. Im Grunde so etwas wie es sich jeder Blogger von der re:publica wünschen würde, nur ein wenig teurer und eben mit Strand und in Englisch, statt in Berlin.
Im Anschluss daran werden noch ein paar Tage Urlaub rangehängt, wenn man denn schon da ist. Bis dahin trinke ich weiter fleißig Glühwein in derben “Melbourner Container Hipsterbars”.
